Mmmm Garlic!!

I know it's been a while ... too long but I was finally able to squeeze one in tonight.  It was Grey's premier which means nachos with Kelly!!! I started us off tonight with Jimmy's Favorite Garlic Bread.... The recipe serves 8 so I cut it in half since it was just the 2 of us and we still couldn't finish it!  The flavour was intense and delicious, the bread was a sourdough loaf which was thick and perfect for this recipe.  Kelly was craving garlic and I think I gave it to her tonight! "It was delicious and I give it a 5" I think this is definitely a must make again and I hope Kelly's co workers talk to her tomorrow! Message me for this recipe ... YOU WANT THIS RECIPE!!

Sloppy Joe with Maui Onion Straws

Tuesday dinner was sloppy joes!! who doesn't like sloppy joes .... This recipe was by far one of the best most flavourful sloppy joe I had ever eaten.  The spices added just the right amount of heat and the flavour on he fried onions added a great crunch of yum.  This is a must make recipe for anyone that likes a good sloppy joe, I give this a 5 all the way ... you will be asking for this one!  Matt gives it a 5 ... "love the jalepeno, seasoned perfectly! "

great way to finish off the weekend

Wow ... tonights dinner was a lot of food!! We started with the grilled romain salad ... It was delicious, the warm balsamic dressing with the bacon and onion was a perfect combination of flavour and to top it off was the blue cheese! This was very easy to make with little prep needed and a ton of flavour.  I would give this a 3.5, now if you ask my dad and step mom .. they gave everything a 5! lol. Matts rating for the salad was 3 " I felt like something was missing".  Next we move on to the french pig pizza ... again super easy to make, I bought a ball of fresh pizza dough from the store instead of making it from scratch.  I learned the key to making a fresh pizza is to have a cold stove pre heated to 500' with either a stone or pizza pan.  The pizza itself turned out pretty good...I felt it could be a little more flavour then what there was so I give this a 3.  Matt's take on the pizza.....he gives it a 4.  the finale was the Fieri spaghetti ... this one took a little longer to prepare for, the meatballs were yummy and not dry at all.  I made the marinara sauce from the recipe book as well and it was really good and made lots.  I give this a 4 and Matt gives it a 5 .. "marinara sauce and meatballs were packed with flavour, I really enjoyed it".  well thats all folks!!! join me next week for more yummy food!!!

Fridays dinner unfortunately had to be postponed as my poor child wasn't feeling himself.  We have had 4 days of just regular cooking so I am looking forward to Sunday's dinner.  On the menu is a grilled romaine with blue cheese-bacon vinaigrette to start, followed by the french pig pizza and the main course ... Fieri spaghetti and meatballs.  I have the pleasure of cooking for my father and step-mom who really don't eat outside the box so this should be fun.   I will have all the photos, comments and ratings tomorrow night ..... see you then!!!

Awesome!!

Hello again ... so dinner is complete and I have to say I am very very satisfied :) The garlic onion tortilla stacks kicked ass and the dipping sauce for them made the dish! the only down fall to this recipe was the prep time and having to let it sit for so long! The cajun chicken alfredo was absolute perfection! The flavour was perfect the garlic and sundried tomatoes weren't too strong and the parm. cheese thicken the sauce up nicely.  My rating for the tortilla stacks would be 4 and my rating on the alfredo is a 5!!! Now lets hear from my better half ...

Matt: The tortillas pack a punch, filling and flavorful..this appetizer is unique but filling.  The alfredo was so nice to taste a homemade sauce rather then out of the can.  The blackening spice gave this dish an octane boost.  My rating for the tortilla stacks would be 3 and the pasta 4.

You are going to want this recipe!!! feel free to message me.  Stay tuned for Friday's meal with 2 guest eaters on the judgement panel :)

Garlic-Onion Tortilla Stacks and Cajun Chicken Alfredo

I can't wait to cook tonight ... it's been a couple days and I'm having withdrawls!! The garlic-Onion tortilla stacks are chilling in the refigerator since last night and they are ready to meet the grill!  I have prepared the blackening season for the cajun chicken alfredo and all thats left is cooking it up and putting it together ... and of course the best part .... eating it! I thought I would pop open a bottle of wine and have a nice dinner with just my man tonight :) I will be back tonight after dinner for reviews and photos!!

Red Rocker

Dish #2 is complete!  This was a little more difficult and time consuming to prepare and make, but was very flavourful.  I had the honour of serving David and Matt this evening and here's what they had to say:

David: "The thing that got my attention immediately with this sandwich was the fact that I tasted the first bite.  Many sandwiches and burgers require two to three bites before any flavour is met.  Not the case here.  The marinade and fried peppers were evident immediately.  Based on the rating scale associated with this blog, this dish deserves a 5 for taste.  It was excellent (and filling).  However, for the lazier cooks out there, I might rate it a 4 as there is a fair amount of preparation involved.  A very enjoyable meal overall..."

Matt: "The crunch of the peppers, the immediate flavour from the marinade on my first bite made this sandwich come right from flavour town.  The chicken was cooked to a perfect 165'f making the sandwich juicy and delicious.  Cabo Wabo on the stereo and in the sandwich, what else could you want. (maybe a shot of Cabo Wabo tequilla) My rating is 4."

there you have it ... I would make this sandwich again and enjoyed making it and eating it.  I would rate this a 4.

off to a good start

So here is the photo of what my acorn squash with turkey sausage and goat cheese looked like!
